Zoom is our current recommended way to do online ministry, but feel free to use the platform of your choice. If you are unsure of how to use Zoom, check out the video resources above.
Using Zoom, people see the “real” us. They see us in our chaos with our disorganized setting, our comfy clothes, our children running in…they see “us.” That can be a good thing! Right now, our students need to see us. And we need to see them.
Did you know…
you can easily have breakout rooms in your meeting? This is a neat feature allowing you to gather as a large group, and then break up into smaller groups for bible study groups, conversation groups, M28 groups etc.
that you can record calls? This allows you to send a recording to those students unable to join your group.
you can have attendees mute upon entering your meeting? You can. Or, as the meeting host, you can automatically mute attendees. It is also important at the start of your meeting to remind attendees to MUTE themselves to decrease background noise when they are not speaking. (It’s okay to remind attendees periodically. People forget. You may also post this reminder in the Chat window…or you can chat privately with individual attendees.)

- Use a new, unique meeting link
- Enable the WAITING ROOM
- LOCK THE MEETING after your attendees have arrived
- Require a PASSWORD for your meeting
- Prevent Zoombombing (video)
